When you see the Salvela olive groves in Barbariga, you will truly feel as if you are a part of nature – Istrian nature.

Surrounded by the sea, this grove of 7,200 trees is in a position where it is both bathed by the sun and cooled by the wind. This is a terroir for traditional, Istrian varieties – the ones that thrive best in the peninsula’s south. Vodnjan Oil Mill wishes to present you with what has always been grown here as a reflection of the local land, culture, and tradition – that which is well-deserving of this oil mill, these centuries-old traditions, and this rich history.

The fruition of that wish are oils of the highest quality. They reflect Istria and can be paired with a wide range of dishes.

The choice is wide, but the level of quality does not change. This has been internationally confirmed. Among the medals our oil has received, the most prestigious come from the New York International Olive Oil Competition and FLOS OLEI from 2014 to 2020, as well as Olive Japan and AVPA Paris in 2015.
